Mom’s Train…

In July of 2011 the kids and I took a road trip with  my Mom and Grandparents that started in Dolan Springs, AZ and ended near Grant’s Pass, OR. It was a great drive, lots of different scenery and things to experience along the way. It was also a chance for the kids to spend time with their Great-Grandparents and their “Grandma Jackie”. I know they don’t really understand it now, but someday they’ll look back and be grateful for the one-on-one time spent with their elders. Especially as time goes on…and as such, those elders become memories rather than present in real life. Anyway, enough of that. On that drive, we were somewhere in the mountains of Northern California, cutting across from Reno towards Shasta…maybe near Susanville, I really don’t know. The valley we were driving through was beautiful – there were tall trees all around, plenty of color, it was cool and the mountain air smelled crisp and clean. Then we saw the train and my Mom asked me to get a picture of it because she liked the setting. I tried my best to capture it from a moving car… and the Mom liked it. Great trip, great memories, great time spent with people I love… irreplaceable memories!
